K3050 is a white PVDF membrane coated with a high-tack butyl adhesive, supplied on a thin PE release liner. Peel it, position it, press it down and the butyl does the rest. The PVDF face is what lets it live outside: it is rated for direct UV exposure with a 20 year UV resistance rating, so it works as an exposed roofing sheet membrane rather than something hidden behind cladding. Underneath, the butyl stays visco-elastic. It conforms to awkward surfaces, absorbs shock and vibration, and is self-healing when punctured with a nail. It resists oxidisation and hardening as it ages, which is what keeps the seal working long term.

Can it be left exposed to the weather?
Yes, that is what it is designed for. The PVDF face is rated for direct UV exposure, with a 20 year UV resistance rating, which is why K3050 is used as an exposed roofing sheet membrane rather than a concealed one.
What happens if it gets punctured?
The butyl is self-healing when punctured with a nail. It closes around the puncture rather than leaving an open hole.
What widths can I get?
Anything from 24mm up to 1,000mm. We slit it in-house, so the roll can be made to match the job rather than the other way around.
What will it stick to?
It bonds to steel, concrete, aluminium and PVC, and it will take on substrates other adhesive systems struggle with, including raw glass fibre. As always, test it on your own surface first.
How long does butyl tape last outdoors?
Two parts to that. The PVDF face is rated for 20 years UV resistance, which is what lets K3050 sit in direct sunlight rather than behind cladding. The butyl underneath is noted for its longevity: it is not prone to oxidisation or hardening, so the seal keeps working rather than going brittle.
How do you apply it?
Peel the PE liner, position it, and press it down. The surface must be clean, dry and free of grease and dust, and pressure sensitive adhesive needs firm pressure to reach full adhesion. The recommended application temperature is 15°C to 30°C. Test on your own substrate before committing to the job.
Can it be used on a caravan or motorhome roof?
Yes. Repairs to RVs and portable buildings are among its listed uses, along with roof gutters and downpipes. The butyl absorbs shock and vibration, which suits something that moves down the road.
How hot or cold can it go?
The service range is −40°C to 90°C.
Does it need warming up before use?
If the rolls have been stored below the minimum application temperature they will need warming to that level before use. Allow up to 24 hours for that to happen.
